New York – Melissa Aviles-Ramos has been appointed chancellor of the New York City Public Schools System. Aviles-Ramos currently serves as deputy chancellor for family and community engagement and external affairs. She brings more than 17 years of educational experience to the role, replacing David Banks. She will begin her tenure Jan. 1, 2025.
