New York City appoints first deputy mayor

New York – Maria Torres-Springer has been appointed first deputy mayor of New York City. Torres-Springer was promoted from her role as deputy mayor of housing, economic development and workforce. She assumed her responsibilities Oct. 8. She replaced Sheena Wright.
