Leadership Appointments: Sept. 18-24, 2025

California – David Malewitz has been appointed to the city of Paso Robles as the next assistant city manager. Malewitz brings a strong background in public administration, infrastructure development and organizational leadership to the role, most recently serving as the city manager for Eloy, Arizona.

Ohio – Elaine Whittman has been selected as Clayton’s next city manager. Wittman previously served as assistant city manager and will continue providing human resources and facilities management services for the city.

California – Molly Rattiga has been announced as the new community development director for the city of Napa. Rattiga, previously the city’s interim director, will bring more than 20 years of public service to the role.

South Carolina – Eric Brown, Ph.D. has been named as the next president and chief executive officer for Denmark Technical College. He will bring more than two decades of experience in higher education administration and student support services.

Florida – Kristi Bartlett has been announced as the next southeast regional director for the Florida Economic Development Council. Bartlett will lead some of the state’s largest economic growth and economic development activities in Coral Springs and beyond.

Washington – Christopher Wimsatt has been appointed to the Port of Seattle as the next Chief Financial Officer. Wimsatt will bring years of experience as an assistant director of airports for the Sacramento County Airport System and will oversee the port’s financial aspects.

Georgia – LeAndrea Mikell has been selected as the assistant vice president for government and community relations for Savannah State University (SSU). As an SSU alumni, Mikell will bring government relations and strategic communications experience, along with economic development and higher education leadership.

Florida – Alex Hernandez has been appointed to the Florida League of Cities 2025-2026 Development, Code Compliance and Redevelopment Policy Committee. Hernandez will play a vital role in reviewing and recommending policies on a wide range of municipal issues, including development, housing, community planning, property rights, short-term rentals, code enforcement and building and fire code permitting.
