$15 million available for New England watershed restoration 

The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announced a $15 million Notice of Funding (NOFO) for watershed projects in southeast New England. Eligible uses include ecosystem and wetland restoration, stormwater treatment and control, nature-based infrastructure, community resilience, resilient shorelines and environmental education. 

The EPA’s Southeast New England Program aims to protect and restore coastal watersheds in collaboration with regional partners.  

The grant money comes from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Eligible applicants, which include any entities with relevant projects in the area, can apply for awards ranging from $50,000 to $300,000. There are expected to be 10 awards granted.  

The NOFO closes June 7, 2024.
