UDOT outlines $2.8B investment in 2026 transportation infrastructure projects

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has announced $2.8 billion in future spending on construction projects for 2026. UDOT officials noted there will be 176 new construction projects.

Some of the highest value projects planned for the coming year include:

UDOT will spend $621 million to build 2100 North Freeway in Utah County – a 2.8-mile freeway-to-freeway connection between Mountain View Corridor and Interstate 15. The freeway will have three travel lanes going in each direction with slip ramps connecting to frontage roads. The project will consist of 14 bridges, two pedestrian bridges and nearly two miles of shared-use paths.

Another $385 million will go to the 1800 North and I-15 intersection project in Davis County. UDOT will build an interchange at the intersection, widen 1800 North up to 2000 West and move northbound I-15 onto its new alignment. In addition, the department will build an overpass at 500 West over the railroad.

The $361 million 5600 South in Roy and Riverdale project in Weber County will build an interchange at I-15 and 5600 South. In addition to widening the road from three to five lanes, the department will add sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and a trail system for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The department will spend $225 million to extend State Route 177 in Davis County by 2.5 miles north. The project will extend to 1800 North in West Point and continue the Emigrant Trail from 1300 North to the Weber County border.

UDOT will invest $175 million to widen I-15 in Washington County. Plans include widening the interstate from two to three lanes. In addition, the project will build two underpasses, raise the interstate, build local connecting roads and replace structures.

Roughly $150 million will enable the department to reconstruct I-215 West in Salt Lake Country from SR-201 to north of I-80. As part of the project, UDOT will rehabilitate 30 bridges and repave 14 miles of ramps.

State and local officials will provide additional information on the planned projects as they progress through planning and design stages.
