Georgia – Adam Flakes has been announced as next county manager for Burke County. Flakes previously served as assistant county manager since 2019, where he oversaw operations across county departments and agencies. In his new role, he will lead operations and budgeting priorities.
Florida – Michael Helfrich has been voted as the next city manager for Maderia Beach. Previously serving as public works director for Tresure Island, Helfrich brings over a decade in experience managing stormwater and shoreline systems. Helfrich, a U.S. Navy veteran, will lead the city’s operations and planning for local shoreline initiatives.
New Hampshire – Paul Cohen has been named town manager for Exeter, effective May 25. Following a nationwide search for candidates, Cohen was selected to lead the New Hampshire town, where he will lead budgeting, operations and strategic initiatives. Cohen was previously the town manager for Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
Mississippi – Steve Patterson has been appointed to the state Department of Information Technology Services as the next chief technology officer. With the department, Patterson will lead enterprise technology operations, statewide IT modernizations and services that support residents.
Ohio – Andy Glenn has been announced Andy Glenn as the next town administrator following the departure of Michael Hampton II. Glenn previously served as a town trustee prior to his appointment, where he helped guide economic development projects. In his new role, Glenn will bring years of experience in economic development and project planning to the town.
Michigan – Marcie Gillette has been named as the new assistant city manager for Battle Creek. Gillette, announced with a new fire chief, will fill a key position in the city, bringing experience in housing developments and municipal coordination. She has worked for the city since 1998 and holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership.
Iowa – Mike Collett has been appointed as the next city manager for Sioux City. Collett previously served as interim city manager and assistant city manager prior to his appointment. Working with the city since 2007, he will lead a leadership transition across city departments as he manages city operations.
Colorado – Kara Silbernagel has been appointed by Pitkin County as the next county manager, following the departure of Jon Peacock. In her new role, she will lead projects and initiatives vital to the county, including the modernization of the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport.
